All you need to get started is a digital wallet. Think of it like a scrapbook, only instead of adding stickers and signatures and traditional memorabilia, you can add digital collectibles – unique, officially licensed, club memorabilia that combines club photography with hand-drawn artwork to capture a United season like never before. Each of the 7,777 Devils that were unleashed are made up of 7 distinct traits: Mood, Details, Earrings, Face, Horns, Body and Colour. These traits are combined to define a Devil’s rarity, with certain traits rarer than others. For example: Devils with a Blue background are rarer than those with a Green, while those with a Green background are rarer than those with a Red. The rarer the Devil, the more prestigious it is. But you may have different traits that you love and want to collect. For more on how each Devil was made, click here.

Certain Devils with rare traits are connected to what happens in the real world. Fans who own one of these Devils, were rewarded with surprises when United players triggered real life moments in the 2022/23 season – such as hat-tricks or man of the match awards. All Devils, regardless of their rarity, were rewarded at random during the unlock process in December 2022. Fans could get one for £30 (including VAT), and pay using their credit or debit card. Alternatively, those fans with Tezos (XTZ) in their Tezos wallet could make a purchase using cryptocurrency. Please Note: secondary marketplace prices may vary and are controlled by individual Devil owners, not Manchester United.

United’s first digital collectible was a Key that unlocked a world of rewards. It cost fans nothing to claim a Key – they were a gift. No more Keys are being awarded at collectibles.manutd.com. But some are still out there on the secondary market. Each one unlocks rewards for United fans - including secret areas on the club's official Discord channel.

By owning a Key, fans were entitled to a host of rewards from United. These rewards included entrance to exclusive competitions that awarded massive prizes (like free tickets to Old Trafford) and access to secret channels in the club’s Discord community, where fans chat with United legends and watch behind-the-scenes footage not shown anywhere else. Keys also gave fans access to United’s Devil digital collectibles first.

Yes, there are three Keys in total – Classic, Rare, Ultra Rare - each with different rarities. Once fans created a Tezos wallet, they could claim a Key in December 2022, which were awarded at random. Here’s how:

- Classic Key: 10 out of 11 Keys awarded were Classic Keys

- Rare Key: 1 out of 11 Keys awarded wereRare Keys

Now there are many different cryptocurrencies and many other blockchains - United’s digital collectibles are stored on the Tezos blockchain (one of the most environmentally friendly blockchains available).

United has selected Tezos, a more energy-efficient ‘Proof of Stake’ blockchain (versus other Proof of Work blockchains) to massively reduce energy consumption. The total annual carbon footprint of the Tezos blockchain equals the annual average energy footprint of 17 global citizens.

No. A regular online image (jpeg) is completely different to a digital collectible, which has a history that can be tracked, as well as a unique identity that can be authenticated. Digital collectibles are more like original artworks. Something rare. A one-off. Like the Mona Lisa. You can photograph the Mona Lisa, print a copy and share it with people. You can hire an artist to paint a copy that looks just like it. But there will only ever be one, original, authentic Mona Lisa. You can usually top up your wallet by going to the respective wallet’s UI and following thesteps to purchase tez. Tez can be purchased via fiat currency (GBP, USD, etc).

Themost popular wallet is Kukai. If you are indeed using Kukai, you can visit https://wallet.kukai.app/, log in with your SSO, and ensure you use the same SSO credentials as used for Manchester United’s Digital Collectibles site.
